Yesterday morning I made my first green smoothie. I called it green because it had greens in it, but it was more of a green/brown color – not the most appetizing, but it tasted way better than it looked. I was actually surprised how good it was. I added kale to it and thought the bitterness would come through, but the other flavors totally trumped it. It was sweet and fresh and the perfect consistency.
The best part? I didn't follow a recipe – I just threw the ingredients I had on hand into the blender and hit go. Here's an idea of what I included though in case you want to give it a try.
Berry Banana Green Smoothie
1/2 cup of vanilla almond milk
handful of kale
handful of spinach
handful of frozen strawberries
handful of fresh blueberries
1 small banana
1/2 of a small avocado
handful of chia seeds
ice
I know it sounds and looks like a lot, but it was super easy, tasted great, and was quite satisfying. Do you guys have a go-to green smoothie?
