Little Wins

We all have those days where it feels like nothing is going our way. But then there's those small moments when it seems like the stars aligned, and for a short period of time you're grateful that someone or something is looking out for you.

These little wins are seemingly worthless to others, but to yourself they feel worthy of a self-five ( see below ) or a 20-second dance party. Like you kind of want to tell everyone around you, but yet you want to keep it to yourself because it was a sacred, personal moment that other people may not fully understand.

Yesterday was one of those days for me. I had a string of little wins and thought it was only appropriate I acknowledge and appreciate those precious moments.

My day started off on a sour note because I was running late to work and it was raining/hailing. Naturally all of the smart commuters left earlier than normal, thus securing a spot under the covered parking. I always park on the third level – which is uncovered – but still was late enough that there wasn't a spot left. Yikes. I proceeded back down the ramp, but decided to give the second level one more shot before I gave up and parked a mile away and trucked it in the rain. As I circled the final row, there it was – the perfect spot. An open slot right next to the stairwell. Score.

Next up was finally identifying a song I had been hearing but didn't know the name or the artist. Luckily I had my phone with me when I heard it on the radio and successfully Shazamed it.

I was also able to sneak in a 20-minute cardio session yesterday evening – which I was not anticipating having the time for. Win.

Lastly, after washing my face before bed, I was pleasantly surprised to notice there wasn't a need for any zit zapper because there wasn't any zits to zap. Amazeballs.

Small, fairly worthless wins, but a win is a win no matter how small. *self-five*
