BBQ, blues, and beer pretty much sums up my first BB's experience. It's hard not to embrace the elbow-to-elbow, family-style crowds in the aging establishment–the walls of which are collaged floor-to-ceiling in old photos, posters, and advertisements.
I ordered one of the Louisiana favorites–Smokey Jo's Gumbo. It was great, with just enough of a kick for my taste. I'm happy to have checked BB's off my KC bucket list.
