May was a good month. Every weekend included sun and fun and lots of laughs. Plus, I got to see my family and spend time with Tommy's family and friends. Oh, and I officially got myself a sister (finally)! This will be a hard month to top, but I am so grateful it happened.

May 2018

KC Tour
Tommy had a friend visit at the beginning of the month, so we took him to all the classic spots. The weekend consisted of the BBQ trio (Q39, Joes, and Char Bar), Power and Light, Westport, a Royals game, and the WW I Memorial. The sun was out in full force and we all got our first sunburn of the season at the Royals game.

MOTHER'S DAY
My beautiful mama came to visit for Mother’s Day, and we had such a fun weekend. We had a late lunch at The Russel before heading to OP to check out Family Tree Nursery (which had been on my list since moving here). After buying all the plants, we had dinner outside at La Bodega and ended the night at the comedy club where we discovered that improv may be my mom’s next hobby. On Sunday morning, we walked around City Market before having brunch at Antler Room. That afternoon my mom and I headed to Legends for some shopping, and we came home and grilled dinner and ended the evening with a walk to Andy’s for the best ice cream.

MINNESOTA
We made a quick trip to Minneapolis to visit Tommy’s best friend at their new house on the lake. We got lucky with great weather at Friday and spent all afternoon on the water and grilling out with friends. I paddle boarded for the first time (love!), and the guys fished for hours. Saturday was cold and rainy so we ended up walking around downtown Excelsior most of the afternoon before ending the night with a trip to the casino. The weather turned back around on Sunday so after brunch we spent most of the afternoon on the dock before heading back home. We had so much fun we’ve already made plans to visit again in July and September.

KOZIHEINE WEDDING
Josh and Donna’s wedding was the perfect end to an already fun-filled month. I was so impressed with Galena, and am still in awe at how beautiful the resort was. The wedding was nothing short of amazing (not that I expected anything less from those two). The whole day couldn’t have been more perfect. Every detail was accounted for, everyone looked beautiful, the reception was a hoot…what more could you ask for? Plus, the festivities leading up to the big day were just as enjoyable. It was so fun being there to celebrate and relax a bit. And now, after nearly 28 years, I officially have a sister. How crazy is that?!

BOOKS

The Wife Between Us – Ugh, such a good read. I thought I had it all figured out until I didn’t. This book kept my attention from the start, and had me on edge as the characters developed. Definitely add this one to your book list if you like a good psychological thriller.

PRODUCTS + THINGS

Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm – Another standout DE product. I'm in major trouble with this one, as I'm a lip balm fanatic and this is probably the best one I've ever used. But for $18 and such a small amount of product (seriously went through this tube SO fast) I'm not sure how much of a staple this can be!
